Hi

Nice to meet you

B.A Visual Communication Design

Minor: User Experience Design

Hi, my name is Abigail Holbert. I’m a recent grad from Kent State University, a dog lover, and someone who thinks design is way more fun than I ever expected it to be.

Software Skills

Illustrator

Figma

Indesign

Basic HTML/CSS

Excel

Photoshop

While I’m still looking to gain more real-world experience, here’s a look at some of the coursework that’s helped me grow my skills, build confidence, and get excited about what’s possible through design.

My Experience

Typography II

Strengthened my understanding of typography as a system, learning how hierarchy, rhythm, and spacing can guide users and bring clarity to complex content.

Interaction Design

Explored how people engage with digital products and created wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to design experiences that feel intuitive and purposeful.

Usability

Focused on designing with the user in mind by practicing nano testing, accessibility audits, and iterative feedback. Learned how small changes can make a big difference in clarity, inclusivity, and overall experience.

Identity Systems

Learned how to build cohesive brand identities, from logos to visual languages, that tell a story and stay consistent across platforms.

Capstone

This course was a deep dive into both the creative and professional sides of design. I developed a full project from the ground up, including research, proposals, timelines, contracts, and a final presentation.

These classes taught me to think big, stay curious and never trust the printer.
